GM Techline Connect gets error "this application requires a java runtime environment 1.8.0"
After an update to GM Techline Connect, you may receive an error message stating "this application requires a java runtime environment 1.8.0" when trying to run Techline Connect.
You need the IT department to install this version of Java but you will still get this message. Please follow the steps below to resolve.

You will need to know your stores BAC number and your Global Connect Credentials.
The process involves Techline Connect support remoting into your computer and completely uninstalling and reinstalling the software. It can take around 30 minutes.
