SharePoint Document Templates 

(Why do I want a template? Create a uniform document and then fill in the variable parts never over writing the original.) 

To create the template first open SharePoint and select your Group. 

For this example, I will choose Information_Services. 

 

I chose Documents on the left side and Email attachments for the folder 

 

Now select Upload and then Template 

 

 

Navigate to the file you would like to upload as the template and select it. 

 

Now any time you are in this folder the template you uploaded is available and can NOT be over written. The Template will open and auto save in this same folder by default.  

 

If you what to save a copy you can rename the file by clicking on the drop down arrow. 

 

The file is now saved.
